Privacy Policy

Last updated: July, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how the site ColorSkein.com (the “Site”), operated by ColorSkein LLC (“we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, discloses, and safeguards your information when you visit ColorSkein.com. We are committed to protecting your privacy and handling your data transparently, wherever in the world you are located.

By using the Site, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.

1. Who we are

The Site is operated by ColorSkein LLC, a Georgia limited liability company located at PO Box 3374, Alpharetta, GA 30005-9998.

For any privacy-related questions, contact us at hello@colorskein.com.

2. Information we collect

Information you provide directly

We collect information you voluntarily give us, such as when you fill out a contact form, request a shopping list by email, subscribe to a newsletter or otherwise correspond with us. This may include your name, email address, and any message content you choose to share.

Information collected automatically

When you visit the Site, we and our analytics provider, Google Analytics, automatically collect certain technical information, which may include your IP address, browser type and version, device type, operating system, referring URLs, pages viewed, links clicked, and the dates and times of your visits. This is collected through cookies and similar technologies (see Section 5).

Account information

If you create an account on the Site, we collect the information needed to set up and maintain it, such as your username, email address, password (stored in encrypted/hashed form), and any profile details you provide.

3. How we use your information

We use the information we collect to: operate, maintain, and improve the Site; respond to your inquiries and provide support; send you the color palettes and shopping lists you request; respond to your inquiries, send newsletters or updates you have requested (you can unsubscribe at any time); analyze usage and trends; personalize your experience; detect, prevent, and address technical issues, fraud, or abuse; and comply with legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal information for money. See Section 11 for how “sale” and “sharing” are defined under California law.

4. Legal bases for processing (GDPR)

If you are in the European Economic Area (EEA) or the United Kingdom, we process your personal data only where we have a valid legal basis: (a) your consent (for example, for marketing emails or non-essential cookies); (b) performance of a contract with you (for example, managing your account); (c) our legitimate interests (for example, securing and improving the Site), where not overridden by your rights; and (d) compliance with a legal obligation.

5. Cookies and tracking technologies

We use cookies and similar technologies (such as pixels, tags, and local storage) to operate the Site, remember your preferences, understand how the Site is used, and support the affiliate relationships described in Section 6.

The categories we use include: strictly necessary cookies required for the Site to function; analytics cookies (for example, Google Analytics) that help us understand traffic; and affiliate/marketing cookies set by our affiliate partners to attribute referrals.

You can control cookies through your browser settings and, where required, through our cookie consent banner. Blocking some cookies may affect how the Site works.

6. Affiliate links and disclosure

The Site contains affiliate links. This means that if you click certain links and make a purchase, we may earn a commission at no additional cost to you. When you click an affiliate link, the destination merchant or affiliate network may place cookies or append tracking parameters to attribute the referral to us; that activity is governed by the third party’s own privacy policy, not this one.

Disclosure: ColorSkein.com, operated by ColorSkein LLC participates in affiliate advertising programs, including networks such as CJ Affiliate, Awin, and Impact. This means we may earn a commission when you click certain links and make a purchase, at no additional cost to you. Our recommendations reflect our own opinions, and affiliate relationships do not influence our editorial content.

7. Accounts and registration

If and when account features are available, you are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity under your account. You may review, update, or delete your account information by logging in or by contacting us. When you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal data unless we are required to retain it for legal, security, or fraud-prevention purposes.

8. How we share your information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share it in the following limited circumstances:

  • Service providers: with vendors who perform services on our behalf, such as website hosting (Github), analytics (Google Analytics), transactional email delivery (EmailJS), newsletter delivery (MailerLite), and — if applicable — account management, under agreements that require them to protect your data.
  • Affiliate partners: as described in Section 6, when you interact with affiliate links.
  • Legal requirements: when required by law, subpoena, or to protect our rights, safety, or property, or that of others.
  • Business transfers: in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, in which case we will notify you of any change in ownership or use of your personal information.
  • With your consent: for any other purpose disclosed to you at the time we collect the information.

9. Data retention

We retain personal information only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this Policy, including to comply with legal, accounting, or reporting obligations. When we no longer need your data, we delete or anonymize it. Analytics data is retained according to the retention settings of our analytics provider.

10. Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to: access the personal information we hold about you; request correction of inaccurate data; request deletion of your data; object to or restrict certain processing; withdraw consent at any time; and request a copy of your data in a portable format. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at hello@colorskein.com. We will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law and will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.

11. California privacy rights (CCPA/CPRA)

If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information we collect and how we use and disclose it; to request access to and deletion of your personal information; to correct inaccurate information; and to opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information as those terms are defined under California law.

We do not sell your personal information for money. However, the use of certain analytics and affiliate cookies may be considered “sharing” for cross-context behavioral advertising under the CPRA. You may opt out at any time using the Cookie settings link in our website footer. We honor Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals where required. To submit a request, contact us at hello@colorskein.com. You may use an authorized agent, and we will verify your identity before fulfilling a request.

12. EU/UK rights and international transfers (GDPR)

If you are in the EEA or UK, you have the rights described in Section 10, plus the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. Because we operate from the United States your information may be transferred to and processed in countries whose data protection laws differ from your own. Where we transfer personal data out of the EEA or UK, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses or an equivalent mechanism.

13. Data security

We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, or alteration. However, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

14. Children’s privacy

The Site is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or the applicable minimum age in your jurisdiction, such as 16 in parts of the EEA/UK). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

15. Third-party links

The Site may contain links to third-party websites, including affiliate merchants. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of those sites. We encourage you to review the privacy policy of every site you visit.

16. Do Not Track

Some browsers offer a “Do Not Track” (DNT) setting. Because there is no consistent industry standard for DNT signals, the Site does not currently respond to them. Where required by law, we honor recognized opt-out preference signals such as Global Privacy Control.

17. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Material changes will be communicated through the Site or by other appropriate means. Your continued use of the Site after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.
